One Down...Many to Go!

Well, clearly my first year of teaching was MUCH busier than I could have ever imagined! It has been quite a while since my last post. But what an absolutely incredible, challenging, exciting, stretching, and fabulous year it was! One down...many to go!

My FIRST year of teaching is done! I could not have asked for a better class. My students were the best and blessed me so greatly every day! I am thankful I will get to see them in the halls next year!

Charlie and I are ENGAGED and will be married 11 months from today!

My wonderful sister and brother-in-law have been married for almost a year! VERY exciting. :)

Here are some precious memories from this past school year....

                                                             Sis and Luke got married!

My first classroom all ready for my students!

                                                            Charlie and I are engaged!

What a great year! I am looking forward to all that this year brings! On to more summer memories and wedding planning! And so it begins...

Oh how time flies!

The title if this post says it all! Since my last post I have successfully completed student teaching, graduated college, accepted a position as a fifth grade teacher at Trinity Christian School, and had the incredible opportunity to fill and execute the role as Director of the greatest camp on earth, Soaring Over Seven.

All I can say is that I am BLESSED!

So much to do and see in the next few weeks! Sis is getting married and I get to start decorating my first classroom!

....and so it begins! :)

Busy! Busy! Busy!

The title of this post VERY  accurately represents the last 2 months!

Between curriculum, my other 5 classes, practicums, Bible Study, tutoring, babysitting, and having what little social life I am able; life is BUSY!

Throughout all the business, however, I am and have been so blessed by so many people and circumstances:

My wonderful family has come to visit and stuffed me with more food then is good for me. No complaints. :)

My amazing boyfriend always makes me smile and is so good at helping me calm down when I get overwhelmed.

My incredible friends always know just what to say or how to distract me from work  at juuuust the right time.

But most of all, my wonderful Savior has provided me with all the strength, patience, and perseverance that I have needed to not only get through but face each day with His love and carry out His plan.

The weekend was LOTS of fun! Friday mom came down and we had a girls night! La caretta for dinner and Say yes to the dress all night! Saturday was Char's birthday! Made him some cake, birthday dinner with friends and a movie after! Loved it! Sunday we had a great lunch for Char, hit up the Jcrew warehouse sale, and had a delicious dinner followed by a homework date at the clab :) GREAT weekend. Can I have it back please?

OHHHH MONDAY...

On this rainy day aaaaaall I want to do is crawl in bed with some hot cider and read. Read ALL day. That would be fabulous! However, I am sitting in the education hall, without cider and soggy shoes. (gross) But I am determined to have a great day! :) The boys are coming over for the Packers game and I'm going to bake. Sounds like a good day to me!

Looking forward to the grilled cheese and tomoatoe soup dinner with Char tonight! :)

Well here goes the rest of today....and so it begins....:)

(please excuse any spelling errors...long night last night...little sleep)

Patience and Perseverance

Is it really only Wednesday?....well technically it is Thursday, although the business that is Thursday has not yet begun.

Patience-most definitely the word of the day for Tuesday. An hour wait for a TB Test followed by an hour and 45 minute wait for a parking decal...enough said.

Perseverance-Curriculum began today. A whole semesters worth of assignments dumped in the laps of students unaware of just how daunting these tasks will truly be. Thank goodness for my wonderful curriculum partner Kylie! Best of friends since freshman year and about to tackle probably the most challenging project of our academic careers to date!

Colossians 1:1:17 comes to mind..."He is before ALL things and in Him ALL things hold together." He has a plan and He will provide everything I need. :)

I finally picked up the devotional by Dr. Jones. Tears filled my eyes as I read the first several pages while waiting in line at the bookstore on campus. I'm sure looks were shot in my direction but I could not help but imagine the pain she went through as she revealed details of a childhood filled with fear and brokenness. She truly is a beautiful picture of perseverance.

Tomorrow, another day. A day I am so thankful for, ups and downs, smiles and tears....every day is a blessing.

And so it begins...

Senior Year...already?

Just yesterday I feel like I was sitting in my very first dorm room terrified that college would be the WORST experience of my life. Little did I know what the Lord had in store for me. :)

My last first day of school was as hectic as to be expected. With new classes, new professors, and all the excitement of seeing friends, needless to say it was an eventful day.

Despite the level of exhaustion, what a blessing it is to attend Liberty. Never in my life did I imagine the support, dedication, and true interest in even the minor details of my life that I receive from the faculty at LU. Seeing old professors and meeting new ones really is a blessing.

And at the end of the day, getting a fantastic dinner with my wonderful boyfriend was the perfect way to end the day. :)

All in all it was a great day and i very much look forward to senior year!
And so it begins...:)
